STAYcation
Yep, our summer vacation has become a staycation. The timing just wasn't right for making any big trips, for multiple reasons. Kiddo's ears still aren't back to normal, so we are headed into the ENT next Monday. And tomorrow- drum roll please- our first visit to the dentist. I'm getting my chompers cleaned, and Jesse gets to take Miles back for his first check-up. Concerns include his never-ending teething tantrums and grinding, loud and skin-crawling grinding. Aside from these quick medical detours, our staycation has been chock full of quasi-local museums and outings. I guess when you live in a destination location, there is no need to leave. Once the air cools off again, we'll head back to Busch Gardens and hang out in the Sesame Street section, which houses the cutest splash zone. And if the heat doesn't break soon, we'll head back to the Living Museum. Last week we went, and Miles saw his first IMAX film. And if we lived closer, I'd totally splurge on an annual membership to the Children's Museum of Richmond. As the pictures indicated, we all had an amazing time. So this staycation business is a pretty sweet deal after all... too bad I didn't think of the term first.

Wow! Miles is way ahead of Sonny. On my "to do" list this summer are Busch Gardens and and IMAX film. How did Miles do with the IMAX? Did it scare him? What was showing?
See ya!
We saw an animated film about a reef called, "Kaluoka'hina"- it was cute and lasted 30 minutes. Miles did fine and watched the entire film. A few weeks earlier, we went to a laser light show. That was more up his alley; maybe it reminded him of home. (Sections of our house still have that Grateful Dead concert feel to them.) We saw it at the Living Museum, which has a smaller theater than the Richmond Science museum.
When you and Sonny hit Busch Gardens, give me a ring. Maybe Miles and I can tag along. That would be a blast.
