Hava Avocado

Fact: I had to suction out a sizable Piece of avocado from Miles' right nostril during dinner. Bonus: more than just green fruit came out. Concern: who will contact me first, social services or the health department? Clealry I have violated my food handlers agreement by loosing and retrieving side dishes in non-mouth parts on my son's face.Bonus: the little man digs mashed potatoes, and he likes them enough to keep them out of his nose.

Ah, the duties of motherhood. We retrieve the unidentifiable from the ears and noses of our children. Something that would make us gag if doing it for someone else. (Oh, heck, it makes us gag with our own kid too!) Yuck!

No wonder I think Miles is so great...he loves mashed potatoes! Yep, one of the best food groups...somewhere up there with fritos and chocolate covered eclairs! You betcha'...some things are just tooooooooo good to live without.

We were at Fresh Market today and the lady in front of us in line had two chocolate covered eclairs in a nice see-thru container. As much as I wanted to grab the non-biodegradable plastic box and stand right there and devour every last morsel...my healthier side said to myself, "Oh, no, I can live without that...I shall not defile my gastrointestinal tract with something so rich, creamy, delicious and non-healthy!" I've regretted that decision since that moment when I only purchased a bag of pre-washed salad and farm raised salmon for Warren to grill.

Tomorrow there may be a quick stop at Fresh Market after church. Hummmmmmmmm, not sure how I digressed so much onto this. It all started with the revelation that Miles loves mashed potatoes. He is one smart dude!

Is Miles taking after a mashed-potato-loving parent?
