Bittersweet

Summer vacation starts in three days.  Unemployment starts in three days.  I am so sad that I am leaving my students behind.

If I haven't shared this before, I'll be amazed...I love teaching.  Kids make the best co-workers on the face of the planet.  Even if that face houses a sassy mouth and rolling eyes.  Who will I tell to spit their gum out and to quit passing notes?  Surely Miles doesn't have enough teeth to chomp on gum...

I'm sad for so many reasons.

Need a little baby time to lift my spirits.  Adios!

Students and teachers will miss you next year...and many years to come if a way is not found for you to stay in teaching. You have "the gift" and the kids love you! We all love you!

What's this...as I look into my crystal ball I see something quite unique and fulfilling for you in the future! OK, the crystal ball is a bit hazy because the specifics are totally not there...but I do discern that you will be using your artistic talents, your writing, and your quirky sense of humor. Hummmm...is it becoming clearer???...could it be writing children's books at home while Mr. Miles tugs at your leg as you try to meet a publishing deadline. I see world wind and world wide tours to promote a staggeringly massive number of child size volumes that weave amusing and colorful tales of a little boy who explores the ever surprising world as he travels through time and space with his totally amazing mom and dad.

Yep...sounds like a plan. I have faith in you!

So sorry to hear you will have to leave your job. It sounded like you loved it a lot.
Looking forward to hearing your plans and about your wonderful Miles as you get this bonus time with him.

P.S. What ab said above, you are a great writer, and I love your sense of humor! If books are in your future, go for it!
