Today, he and I have enjoyed a very lazy Monday- snackin' and nappin'. Perfect for the cloudy weather. . .it's too rainy to take our daily walk. Maybe after our next snack round, we will go for a rainy day drive.

Fighting Naptime
In this corner, weighing 8 pounds and some change, is the Billyburg Brawler, the Nighttime Crawler, Sir Fuss-a-lot, Mister Sleep Not. . .Miles Thomas!
(insert wild cheers)
And in this corner, weighing in at a 6 weeks post-delivery diet of stale pretzels, Halloween candies of yore, and sympathy meals from friends and family alike, the Sleepwalker, the Lactating Loonie, the Sleep Deprived Diva, the Zombie Mama Express. . .Anna Thomas.
(insert polite applause)
I don't think the odds are in my favor.
Miles doesn't want to sleep, ever. I am two blinks away from a blackout. His new found energy is exciting, but he's like a home entertainment center with no volume control or off switch. Moderation is not in the infant vocabulary. Duh!
“Sleep is like the unicorn - it is rumored to exist, but I doubt I will see any."

The Exciting World of Questionable Toys

How one search leads to another:
1. I was looking up a potential Waldorf study group/ play group for Miles and me to attend.
2. The group is slated to meet in this local German toy store.
3. I then looked at their on-line selection of toys.
4. I found this gem! The Titanic + Iceberg!
5. Look at the link. It really comes with an iceberg.
I don't know if I should laugh or look away. You decide.

Nicknames Ahoy!
For some reason I can't call Miles by his given name. Oh no, only nicknames will do. His daddy is a wiz a making adorable and lasting nicknames for the little man. My names are always a bit weird. Let's look and compare:
Jesse's Award Winning Nicknames for our baby:
1. Silly Biscuits (I squealed when Jesse said this for the first time)
2. Buttons, aka Baby Buttons
3. Love/ Lovie
Anna's Not-So-Hot Second Rate Nicknames:
1. Stinky Pants Man
2. Poopy Legs
3. Napalm Pants
4. Little Baby Schmuffin, aka Son of Schmuffin (Jesse's awful pet name from me)
Guess you can tell by the names who the little man saves his explosive poop for.
Also- I've been playing around with the letters in Miles' first name. He also spells SMILE (too darn cute) and SLIME (appropriate at times). Once I've gotten more sleep I will incorporate his entire name into a Jumble game.

Am I living in a time warp??
Miles is now 4 weeks old today! He only just arrived. Our friend Sue suggested we throw Miles a party to celebrate his four weeks. I like parties, although I don't quite fit into my party dress yet. I'll try to hold off on the party until it's his actual birthday, but it will be hard because he causes my heart to celebrate every time I hold him. Ahhhh. . .babies rock!
**Side note- my current state of joy is directly linked to receiving a decent night of sleep last night. Miles slept for 4 1/2 hours straight. That is a HUGE accomplishment. Granted, he will be awake all day, but so will I!
