Thanks for all the advice posted yesterday. I think, above all, I need to use more common sense- like don't bounce Miles on my knee immediately following a bottle. Minus one for me and his soiled onsie. His bed has been propped at an incline for a several weeks, and that has helped with overnight spit up. Once he pooped last night, he slept like a dream- not curled into a tiny, tightly wound ball of gas cramps and anger. I like the idea of sleeping the car seat. I'll suggest that Mr. Mom give that a shot tomorrow. As for looking into yet another formula alternative, there's always soy. Oh- the doctor also said that the low dosage of the antibiotics are more for encourage regularity as opposed to fighting an infection. He's to take it for a month. And finally teething- guess it was bound to happen sooner or later, and just as I was getting attached to his old man gums. . .
On a parting and more somber note, a friend of mine is in the midst of a serious tragedy. It is not my story to tell, so I won't go into any details. However, I ask that you send positive energy in our Williamsburg way. Go hug and kiss your family, for they are the greatest gift ever bestowed upon us. I'm off to kiss Miles and Jesse now.

Well, that explains why I didn't consider the constipation...my son has NEVER been constipated! Quite the opposite (much like his father)..both are VERY regular (at LEAST once a day). I am sure Jeff would appreciate my talking about his #2 bathroom habits! Anyway, the other thing I saw that I wanted to tell you is (and maybe you know or have been told this already)...but I read today that kids with DS are more likely to have intestinal problems, so maybe that also explains the constipation in your little fella. There wasn't any explanation as to what to do about that, but maybe your pediatrician would have some ideas...just a thought! I will keep my fingers crossed for Miles to have more explosive poos in the future so that everyone stays happy! LOL!!
And you are SO lucky that Miles will sleep in his carseat! Kenden NEVER did...and still won't. Even on our 6.5 hour drive to the beach...not one wink of sleep from my guy...Stinker... :)
I remember when Sonny was that age - he went through some constipation phases. I went with Prune Juice - it seemed to work. Also, sometimes I remember putting him to sleep in his inclined, vibrating chair and leaving it on vibrate until the batteries ran out b/c that motion was the only thing that kept him sleeping and by God, he was going to sleep!! Keep your head up....you'll get through the sleepless nights though they may seem endless. To be honest, sleep is never quite the same once you're a parent unless you drink heavily combined with tylenol pm. It's just hard to fully relax when you know there's a human being you are responsible for in the next room (or in my case in the same bed...I'm such a sucker).
